ALEC Statement on Horrific Killing at Capital Jewish Museum
Arlington, VA – ALEC CEO Lisa B. Nelson released the following statement on the tragic killing of Israeli Embassy staffers at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC:
Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim. It is a loss for all who believe in justice, peace, and the right of Israel to exist in safety and sovereignty. We grieve with their families, and we stand with them in unwavering solidarity.
The brutal assassination in Washington, DC was not an isolated act of violence, but the predictable outcome of a hateful movement built on the goal of destroying the Jewish state of Israel. It was the logical conclusion of every chant of “From the River to the Sea.” Those who marched under that banner or financed that agenda cannot claim shock or innocence at this tragedy.
This is what happens when evil is allowed to take root. We watched as university presidents, community leaders, and elected officials tolerated the hatred on our campuses, in our streets, and even in the halls of government. The propaganda of terrorists has been sanitized, mainstreamed, and this is the tragic result.
That’s why Secretary Rubio is revoking visas. That’s why Secretary Noem is expelling those who sympathize with our enemies. And that’s why President Trump is standing shoulder to shoulder with Israel as they continue to defend their borders, their people, and their very right to exist. We shall never forget our solemn responsibility to stand against evil at every turn.
