Representative Phil King is currently serves in the Texas House of Representatives. He received his B.A. and M.B.A. from Dallas Baptist University and his J.D. from the Texas A&M University School of Law. Outside of his work in the legislature, Rep. King is a practicing attorney for the firm of Eggleston King, LLP.

Rep. King was first elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 1999 and currently represents the 61st district. He serves as Chair for the Homeland Security & Public Safety Committee and serves on the Energy Resources Committee. Rep. King is also an active member of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and formerly served as the 2015 National Chair. He currently serves on the National Board of Directors and is the Chair of the ALEC Center for Innovation and Technology. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute. He has authored legislation that focuses on tax reform across the state of Texas.

In addition to his work in the legislature, Rep. King serves as a Colonel in the Texas State Guard, one of three branches of the Military Forces of the State of Texas. The Guard assists and augments the Texas National Guard and Texas civil authorities during state emergencies and in homeland security.

In his personal life, Rep. King and his wife Terry are active members of Trinity Bible Church. They are the proud parents of six children, eight granddaughters and four grandsons.
