ALEC Remembers Representative Forristall

Representative Forristall, first elected in 2006, was a steadfast member of the American Legislative Exchange Council and served as the Iowa state chair. He also served on, and chaired, the Education Task Force and his expertise and passion for the nation’s children and their futures could always be relied on.  He was a regular attendee at national ALEC meetings and academies, and at events in Des Moines, as was his wife, Carol.

In the legislature, he worked on education policy and was a well-known advocate for the Arts.

“We at ALEC are saddened by the news of Representative Forristall’s passing as he was such an important and consistent presence at our meetings and within our organization,” said Lisa B. Nelson, CEO of ALEC. “We extend our deepest condolences to his family during this difficult time.”
