ALEC Signs Coalition Letter Regarding Fuel Efficiency Standards
Over 40 free market organizations support deregulatory reform expected to save lives and money
This week, the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) signed a letter in support of the Safer Affordable Fuel-Efficient (SAFE) rule organized by the American Energy Alliance. The rule is the product of joint Department of Transportation and Environmental Protection rulemaking to reform the federal fuel mandates known as the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) program.

Signing with over 40 other free market organizations, ALEC backs the new rule that is expected to empower consumers, save Americans $1,400 over the life of a new vehicle and reduce collision fatalities by more than 3,300 annually.
