Summary

This act consolidates elections to take place the Tuesday after the first Monday in November. 

The Uniform Election Dates Act

(A) The Tuesday after the first Monday in November, is established as the day for the election of all elected officials for federal office, for any office of this state, for any office of a political subdivision of this state, for any bond issue or tax increase, and for any ballot question or referendum subject to the following exceptions: 

  1. Any primary election shall be held on the [first Tuesday in March];  
  2. Any runoff election shall be held according to the laws of this state;  
  3. Any special election shall be held according to the laws of this state; 
  4. Any presidential preference primaries shall be held on the [first Tuesday in March]. 

(B) No election in this state shall be scheduled for a day other than Tuesday.
