Biography
Jose “Pepe” Fernandez is the heart of ALEC. The longest-serving employee, he began working for the organization in June 1994 as the Public Affairs, Membership and Office Manager. His good-natured smile, friendly engagement and institutional knowledge have made him an invaluable asset to the ALEC community.
Pepe was born in Bolivia and moved to Jersey City, NJ in 1989. He attended college in New Jersey, where he studies Communications and TV Production before working at NBC NY. His other pre-ALEC work includes stints with the National Foundation of Women Legislators, the Four Seasons and NBC Washington.
His favorite American icons are Ronald Reagan and the 2015 World Series-winning Kansas City Royals. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Miriam, and their beautiful daughter, Micaela.
