ALEC Statement on Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief
Arlington, VA – ALEC CEO Lisa B. Nelson released the following statement regarding the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene and the ongoing relief efforts:
The ALEC family continues to pray for the states, communities, and families devastated by Hurricane Helene across the Southeast, including those still isolated by washed-away bridges and roads. As a state-based organization, our hearts go out to our members and their constituents in affected areas of Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
In times like these, we witness the strength and resiliency of Americans, the courage of our first responders, and the selflessness of neighbors lending a helping hand. We are grateful for state leaders who have mobilized state resources to help without hesitation. Please continue to keep these communities in your thoughts and prayers and consider donating to your local disaster relief efforts.
