American Legislative Exchange Council 44th Annual Meeting Kicks Off Today in Denver, CO
Speakers include Secretaries DeVos, Acosta, Zinke as well as Newt Gingrich, Steve Forbes, Pete Coors and more
Denver, CO (July 19, 2017)—The 44th American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) Annual Meeting kicks off today at the Hyatt Regency Denver. Thousands of state legislators, business leaders, policy experts and citizen groups will share ideas and experiences to discuss research-based model policies that focus on limited government, free markets and federalism. Over the next three days, attendees will hear from influential leaders including Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, the Honorable Jim DeMint, Mr. Steve Forbes, Mr. Pete Coors, Mr. Guy Benson, and Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin.

ALEC facilitates conversation between public and private sector leaders, think tanks and citizen groups through meetings and model policy development. Members will have the opportunity to attend workshops and speeches on issues ranging from the opioid crisis to school choice to the future of fossil fuels.

“ALEC has had an amazing year and is taking full advantage of having an Administration that is a friend to the states,” said ALEC National Chairman Jim Buck. “State policies that increase freedom are taking hold around the country because we work together, we listen and learn from one another. And it helps us to be better, more clear-minded leaders.”
