Rep. Jason Saine Awarded Legislator of the Year by the American Legislative Exchange Council

Dallas, Texas (July 31, 2014)—Representative Jason Saine of North Carolina received the Legislator of the Year Award today from the American Legislative Exchange Council at the organization’s 41st Annual Meeting in Dallas, Texas. Rep. Saine received the award for organizing a successful ALEC tax academy in North Carolina and for being a leader in advancing free market principles.

“I am honored to receive this award,” said Rep. Saine. “I am proud to be a member of ALEC, and have done my best to reduce government overregulation and promote free markets in North Carolina.”

Rep. Saine was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives in 2011. He was appointed to serve as the first ever House Appropriation Chairmen of Information Technology, and has been a leader on a number of important issues, including student and employee online privacy. He also serves as the North Carolina ALEC State Chair.

“Representative Saine is a champion for free market principles, and we look forward to his continued leadership within ALEC,” said Iowa Majority Leader Linda Upmeyer, ALEC National Chair.

The American Legislative Exchange Council is the country’s largest 501(c)(3) nonpartisan voluntary membership organization of state legislators.
