State and Local Leaders Convene in Scottsdale for States & Nation Policy Summit
ALEC Unveils Essential Policy Solutions for 2024
Scottsdale, Ariz.- Today, the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) begins the winter’s most influential gathering in state policy: the ALEC States & Nation Policy Summit. The meeting welcomes nearly 1,000 of the country’s most influential legislators, policy experts, and stakeholders from across the states as they prepare for the 2024 legislative session.
In addition, ALEC, the nation’s largest voluntary membership organization of state legislators, will unveil its new 2024 Essential Policy Solutions, which include empowering parents through universal education freedom, keeping politicized investment strategies out of state pensions, defending the states against the influence of the Chinese government, and more.

State lawmakers from nearly all 50 states are expected to attend, share best practices, and consider state-based solutions to overcoming the malaise and gridlock coming from Washington, D.C. Local leaders from the American City County Exchange (ACCE) – celebrating its 10th anniversary – will also gather as part of the ALEC States & Nation Policy Summit.
ALEC task force members will consider a slate of more than 40 draft model policies addressing human smuggling, online safety, affordable health care, and more.
