State and Local Leaders Gather in Washington, DC for States & Nation Policy Summit
ALEC Unveils Essential Policy Solutions for 2025
Washington, DC – Today, the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) begins the winter’s most influential gathering in state policy: the ALEC States & Nation Policy Summit. On the heels of the 2024 Election, nearly 1,000 of the country’s most influential legislators, policy experts, and stakeholders from across the states will gather in the Nation’s Capital in preparation for the 2025 legislative session.
“The American electorate spoke loud and clear in November: power should be restored back to the people and back to the states where it belongs,” noted ALEC National Chair, Kansas Senate President Ty Masterson. “States are proving that leadership grounded in limited government and free markets drives economic growth, expands individual freedom, and delivers the prosperity Washington has failed to achieve.”
Over the next three days, state lawmakers from nearly all 50 states will convene to hear from an impressive lineup of speakers, including DOGE Co-Leader Vivek Ramaswamy, Indiana Governor-elect Mike Braun, Congresswoman Debbie Lesko, Congressman Ron Estes, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Daily Caller News Foundation President Adele Malpass, and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. Participants will share best practices, engage in intensive workshops, and explore state-based solutions to shape America’s future while tackling the inefficiencies of federal bureaucracy. Additionally, local leaders from the American City County Exchange (ACCE) will gather as part of the ALEC States & Nation Policy Summit.
Wednesday’s lunch session will include a fireside chat about making the 2017 Tax Cuts & Jobs Act permanent.
ALEC will also unveil its latest publication, Essential Policy Solutions for 2025, which features trusted policy solutions to make energy reliable and affordable, permanently extend the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, empower parents through universal education freedom, eliminate judicial deference to state agencies, enable innovation in emerging technologies, and more.
