Throughout the three-day event, ALEC members will participate in workshops, plenary sessions, and task force meetings to debate and vote on model policies addressing some of the most urgent challenges facing the states. Topics this year include artificial intelligence and data center infrastructure, election integrity, energy affordability, and economic competitiveness.

“As our members gather in Florida for ALEC’s 53rd Annual Meeting, I’m proud to welcome them to a state that has demonstrated how principled, state-led policy can expand opportunity and deliver results for its citizens. It’s an honor to host this year’s meeting in a state that has set the standard for education freedom and economic competitiveness. By sharing our successes and learning from one another, we can continue advancing policies that strengthen the states and improve the lives of the people we serve,” said Florida Representative Demi Busatta, ALEC National Chair.

This week, ALEC members will consider more than 90 draft model policies across an array of issue areas ranging from artificial intelligence in healthcare and Medicaid reform, to government oversight and foreign influence. These conversations will take place in ALEC’s member-led task forces, which operate as the nation’s most robust incubators of policy innovation.

The Hugh Hewitt Show will broadcast live from the Annual Meeting on Wednesday and Thursday, featuring conversations with ALEC leaders on state policy successes, emerging challenges, and priorities for the year ahead.

“The ALEC Annual Meeting showcases the strength of federalism and the critical role states play in developing solutions that work,” said ALEC CEO Lisa B. Nelson. “Across the country, state leaders are advancing policies that promote innovation, protect individual liberty, and expand opportunity for their citizens. By bringing lawmakers and policy experts together, ALEC creates a forum where leaders develop solutions to meet the challenges facing states today.”

The ALEC Annual Meeting will also highlight how state leaders are protecting free enterprise, advancing regulatory freedom and creating an environment where innovation can thrive.
