Michigan’s Approach to Smartphones in Schools: Media Highlights

Last week, ALEC Senior Director of Policy Jake Morabito gave several interviews on Michigan’s recent legislation limiting the use of smartphones in K-12 schools during instruction time. This new legislation is consistent with the ALEC model Limiting Student Use of Cell Phones in K-12 Classrooms, one of the ALEC Essential Policy Solutions for 2026.
