The State Legislator of the Month highlights successes and acknowledges those who personify the principles at the core of ALEC–limited government, free markets, and federalism.

We are proud to recognize California Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil as the ALEC State Legislator of the Month for April 2026. She represents California’s 4th Senate District, spanning 13 counties across the Sierra and Central Valley. First elected in 2022, she has quickly established herself as a strong voice for rural communities and a leader advancing practical solutions with bipartisan support.

Her leadership has strengthened coordination within her delegation and expanded the ALEC presence across California.

On receiving this recognition, Sen. Alvarado-Gil shared:

“I am honored to receive the Legislator of the Month recognition from ALEC. I extend my sincere thanks for this meaningful acknowledgement of our shared commitment to limited government, free markets, and federalism. As California’s ALEC State Co-Chair, I remain dedicated to advancing principled, state-led solutions that empower our communities and strengthen our nation as we celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary. This recognition inspires me to continue fighting for the values that make our states and our country exceptional.”
