Biography
Zach Federico is the Manager of the Veterans and Military Affairs Task Force, where he collaborates with state legislators, veterans’ organizations, and private-sector leaders to develop policies that support the military community. Previously, he served as the Executive Assistant to Lisa Bowen, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer, and Jonathan Williams, President and Chief Economist.
In addition to his role at ALEC, Zach is a musician with the 29th Infantry Division Band in the Virginia Army National Guard. As a euphonium and trombone player, Zach has supported numerous ceremonies and has played for dignitaries such as President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin. His service took him to Normandy in 2024 where he played a role in commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings. Last year, he was awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal for his volunteer work outside of drill.
Zach holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy (MAPP) degree from Liberty University. He graduated in 2023 with high distinction and was awarded the Most Outstanding Graduate Student award for his program. In his free time, Zach enjoys playing music, ultimate frisbee, and beach volleyball.
