State Legislator of the Month, September 2024: New Hampshire Rep. Jeanine Notter

We are proud to recognize Representative Jeanine Notter of New Hampshire as ALEC’s State Legislator of the Month. This award honors her unwavering commitment to ALEC’s values and her leadership in building and strengthening her state’s legislative delegation.
Since being elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 2010, Notter has been a passionate advocate for ALEC values. Her leadership has played a pivotal role in strengthening New Hampshire’s delegation and expanding ALEC’s engagement throughout the state. As one of New Hampshire’s ALEC State Chairs, she has actively fostered collaboration among legislators, consistently working to grow the delegation. 
“I’m deeply honored to receive this recognition,” said Notter. “ALEC has provided invaluable resources and networking opportunities that have helped shape policies benefiting my constituents and guiding my legislative work.”
In an interview with ALEC TV, Notter discussed the challenges of public service and the support she receives from ALEC. “ALEC gives me such a boost,” she shared. “The ALEC family keeps me going and makes me want to stay in the legislature and keep fighting the good fight.” She also reflected on how her first ALEC conference helped her build lasting relationships that have been essential to her work ever since.
Beyond her role as a State Chair, Notter serves on the Executive Committee of the Communications and Technology (CAT) Task Force. She has played a key role in advancing model policies on artificial intelligence, online safety for children and teenagers, and safeguarding the nation’s critical cyber infrastructure from foreign threats. Her leadership has driven innovative solutions, reinforcing her commitment to forward-thinking governance.
With her impressive track record as a State Chair and policy leader, Notter exemplifies ALEC’s core values. Her passion for expanding ALEC’s engagement in New Hampshire and improving the lives of her constituents makes her a deserving recipient of the State Legislator of the Month award.
