Biography
Christine Phipps is an award-winning graphic designer who has worked in the design field for more than a decade. She has experience working with government agencies, trade councils, non-profit organizations, public relations firms, corporations and advertisement agencies in the United States and Asia. At ALEC, she provides creative art direction for all visual communications and collateral materials. Her responsibilities include repositioning, developing and maintaining the organization’s brand identity. She designs publications, presentations, meeting materials, web graphics and visual elements and ensures the uniform application of brand identity guidelines.
Prior to joining the American Legislative Exchange Council, she was an expert consultant for ICF International’s Creative Department. Also, she worked for HMA, a multicultural and communications marketing firm, and for Conservation International, a global non-profit environmental organization located in Washington DC. She also has extensive work experience in Asia where she focused on advertisement and marketing design. Her clients included globally leading brands, such as Ford Motor, Calvin Klein, Clarins Cosmetics, etc. Christine was regularly published in newspapers and magazines such as Vogue, Elle and Cosmopolitan. She also had her own art and design gallery in Singapore. Fai Thai In-flight magazine featured her in an article, “Art Preneur, Phipps, an artist and gallery owner doing her bit to change the landscape.”
Christine earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree graduating with honors in graphic design from the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC. Christine’s background is in both digital and traditional art and design. She also received formal training in traditional Chinese art, calligraphy and landscape as well as photography, illustration and modern art. She was born in Taiwan and speaks two languages. She has travelled and lived in different parts of the world. She enjoys cooking and loves trying foods from different countries. Most of the people who know her well will say she is a fun-loving person with a creative and artistic approach to life.
