Darcy Olsen

Darcy Olsen is the former CEO of the Goldwater Institute. The Goldwater Institute is “simply in the liberty business,” writes Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist George Will, and “there’s no institution in the country that performs that business better.” Olsen’s leadership was critical to the Institute’s rise, including the enactment of hundreds of reforms across country and the enforcement of constitutional rights in state and federal courts.

Under Olsen’s direction, the Goldwater Institute developed the Save Our Secret Ballot initiative, a successful nationwide effort to protect businesses from labor union card-check, as well as Right to Try, a measure giving terminally ill patients access to potentially life-saving medicines. A graduate of Georgetown University and New York University, Olsen is a foster mother and an adoptive mother of three.
