Tesla Attacks, SpaceX Rescue, and More: Lee Schalk on OAN Weekly Briefing
"Back in 2011, President Obama signed an executive order to make the government more efficient, putting none other than Joe Biden in charge."
ALEC Senior Vice President of Policy Lee Schalk appeared on One America News Network’s Weekly Briefing with John Hines to discuss the Tesla arson attack in Las Vegas, the return of astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams thanks to SpaceX, how federal judges are blocking President Trump’s policies, and the potential Russia-Ukraine peace agreement.
Tesla Arson
Schalk called out the double standard of these actions against Tesla now that Elon Musk has partnered with President Trump to make the government more efficient, highlighting how quickly perceptions have shifted.
“This is in response to what Elon Musk is doing to help President Trump make our government more efficient. That is just an incredibly astounding issue that should be bipartisan. We all remember — or we should — that back in 2011, President Obama signed an executive order to make the government more efficient, putting none other than Joe Biden in charge.”
SpaceX Rescue
Schalk touched on the return of the NASA astronauts from the International Space Station thanks to help of the SpaceX Dragon Freedom.
“What a special moment to see this SpaceX capsule, called Dragon Freedom, splash down in the Gulf of America as a pod of dolphins gathered around. What a cool moment! Elon Musk, as the founder of SpaceX, is someone we should really look to as a hero and a leader in the private sector for innovation. So, hats off to SpaceX for working with NASA to bring these astronauts home.”
Federal District Judges Blocking President Trump’s Policies
The panel discussion than turned to federal district judges blocking key policies of the Trump administration. Schalk invoked the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
“How would our Founding Fathers react to this idea of activist judges stopping the President from sending dangerous criminals back home or eliminating bureaucratic bloat? The American people are becoming much more aware of this issue right now. And I think the timing is right as we approach the milestone of America’s 250th birthday.”
Negotiations with Russia and Ukraine
The panel concluded with discussion on the Trump administration brokering negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. Schalk expressed optimism about President Trump’s negotiations and the potential for a lasting ceasefire.
“It is encouraging to see that we are making progress here, but there is a difficult road ahead.”
