Remembering U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) was saddened to learn of the tragic death of ALEC Alumnus, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, whose moral clarity in foreign policy will be greatly missed.

During his two years in the South Carolina House of Representatives, Sen. Graham was an active member of ALEC. Elected to Congress in the GOP’s sweeping victory in 1994, Sen. Graham became an unwavering ally of representative democracies – especially new ones – around the world.

America has lost a stalwart defender of global freedom who ably shepherded influential policy ideas through a divided Congress. ALEC extends our deepest condolences to his family and friends across South Carolina and the world.
