Statement from ALEC on Building Trust in our Elections

The American Legislative Exchange Council believes that trusted elections are the foundation of democracy. Because the Constitution places primary responsibility for administering elections with the states, they must lead the effort to ensure that election systems are secure, transparent, accurate, and worthy of the public’s trust. The model policies passed by ALECs Process and Procedures Task Force, give states a roadmap to make it easy to vote and hard to cheat.
