State Legislators of the Month, October 2025: Oklahoma Sen. Julie Daniels and Rep. Mark Lepak

The State Legislator of the Month highlights successes and acknowledges those who personify the principles at the core of ALEC–limited government, free markets, and federalism.

ALEC is proud to recognize Sen. Julie Daniels and Representative Mark Lepak of Oklahoma as the State Legislators of the Month for October 2025. Senator Daniels serves as a member of the ALEC Board of Directors, a State Chair, and Chair of the Judiciary Task Force, alongside Rep. Lepak, her fellow State Chair. Together, they have demonstrated exceptional leadership in recruitment, engagement, and strengthening Oklahoma’s participation in the ALEC network.

Reflecting on the award, Sen. Daniels shared, “Thank you to ALEC for empowering state legislators like us to shape America’s future. I appreciate the serious, thoughtful work we do to advance effective, conservative policies in our states. Even better to be recognized with my good friend Mark Lepak – best State Chair ever and my favorite House author!”

This fall, Sen. Daniels and Rep. Lepak — together with their private sector chairs — hosted a successful ALEC event in Oklahoma City featuring remarks from pollster Scott Rasmussen of RMG Research and strong participation from legislative leadership. The event fostered new and renewed engagement ahead of the States and Nation Policy Summit and the 2026 legislative season, helping strengthen connections among Oklahoma’s policymakers.

Sen. Julie Daniels serves as Senate Majority Leader, representing Oklahoma’s 29th District, which includes Washington, Nowata, and northern Rogers counties. A former mayor, she also chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee and is known for advancing policies that uphold the rule of law, promote education choice, and expand opportunity for all Oklahomans.

Rep. Mark Lepak serves as Chair of the House Rules Committee, representing Oklahoma’s 9th District in the Bartlesville area. An attorney and former telecommunications executive, he previously served on the Claremore City Council and Moore School Board. He is a steady advocate for fiscal responsibility, efficient government, and education choice – bringing a practical, results-driven approach to strengthening Oklahoma’s economy and workforce.

Together, Sen. Daniels and Rep. Lepak exemplify strong, service-minded leadership and a shared commitment to principled governance.

Congratulations, Sen. Julie Daniels and Rep. Mark Lepak!
