ALEC Statement on the Horrific Attack on Minnesota Legislators

Arlington, VA – In response to the heinous attack on Minnesota state legislators, the American Legislative Exchange Council released the following statement:

Violence has no place in America and must be condemned by everyone. We commend Minnesota’s law enforcement for their swift and professional response in apprehending the suspect in last week’s horrific and unacceptable attack. As an organization comprised of state legislators, we understand that the strength of our Republic rests on the ability of elected officials to engage in debate within the bounds of civility and without fear of violence. Our prayers are with the victims, their families, and their loved ones during this tragic time.
