National, State, and Local Leaders Unite in Fort Worth for States & Nation Policy Summit
ALEC Unveils Essential Policy Solutions for 2026
Fort Worth, TX – Today, the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) begins the winter’s most influential gathering in state policy: the ALEC States & Nation Policy Summit. The meeting welcomes more than 1,000 of the country’s most influential legislators, policy experts, and stakeholders from across the country as they prepare for the 2026 legislative sessions and continue celebrating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
In addition, ALEC, the nation’s largest voluntary membership organization of state legislators, will unveil its newest publication, Essential Policy Solutions for 2026, which include trusted policies on making energy reliable, improving civics education, bolstering election integrity, and more.

Over the next three days, state lawmakers from nearly all 50 states are expected to attend, share best practices, and consider state-based solutions to the biggest policy issues affecting Americans.
On Tuesday, ALEC will host a leadership awards dinner to honor outstanding individuals committed to promoting limited government, free markets and federalism, including the ALEC Legislators of the Year. The Hugh Hewitt Show will broadcast live on Tuesday and Wednesday, joined by ALEC leaders to discuss 2025 victories and upcoming initiatives for 2026.
ALEC task force members will consider a docket of over 80 draft model policies addressing housing affordability, supporting veterans, improving health care, fostering economic growth, and more.
