Statement from ALEC CEO Lisa B. Nelson on the Passing of Dr. Ed Feulner
Arlington, VA – ALEC CEO Lisa B. Nelson released the following statement on the passing of Dr. Ed Feulner:
Everyone at ALEC was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my dear friend, Dr. Ed Feulner. Ed was more than a towering figure in the conservative movement and a personal inspiration to so many of us who had the privilege of learning from his wisdom and leadership.
ALEC’s story is forever connected to Ed’s legacy. It was in the basement of The Heritage Foundation, in the same year Ed helped launch Heritage, that ALEC first found its footing. His commitment to limited government, free markets, and the power of ideas helped shape ALEC’s early vision and continues to guide us today.
America has lost a great champion of liberty, but his impact will endure throughout the generations. My prayers are with Linda and the Feulner family. May we all honor Ed’s memory as we continue the work of advancing freedom at every level of government.
