Today, we honor the life of Vice President Dick Cheney, whose legacy of service to our nation — as White House chief of staff, a member of Congress, secretary of defense, and vice president — reflects a steadfast commitment to public duty that spanned decades.

A recipient of ALEC’s Thomas Jefferson Freedom Award in 2003, Vice President Cheney was recognized for his dedication to the ideals of liberty, limited government, and civic responsibility.
