Governor Abbott Talks Texas Success at ALEC Annual Meeting

At the 48^th ALEC Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, Governor Greg Abbott of Texas discussed economic prosperity in Texas. He noted that he was ranked first in the Laffer-ALEC Report on Economic Freedom: Grading America’s 50 Governors. Texas balanced its budget with no new taxes and added to its savings account. Governor Abbott also discussed the growth of the Texas economy, becoming the 9^th largest economy in the world in 2020.

Governor Abbott notes that Texas is successful because they put the ALEC principles into practice. “We remain the committed to free markets, fiscal responsibility, and American ingenuity.”
