Taiwan Welcomes Delegations from ALEC: Taiwan Today

Sharing the message of limited government and federalism

A delegation of ALEC leaders, including CEO Lisa B. Nelson, Senior Director of the Federalism and International Relations Task Force Karla Jones, and West Virginia Senator Patricia Rucker, are currently visiting officials in Taiwan. The trip included a meeting with frequent ALEC speaker and current Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim at the Presidential Office in Taipei City.

That portion of that trip was recently covered in Taiwan Today and included the following mention:

The visits of delegations from the U.S. state of Virginia-based American Legislative Exchange Council, the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Oversight and Accountability as well as Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party are welcomed by the government and people of Taiwan, according to the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the PO, Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim met with ALEC members including Patricia Rucker, West Virginia state senator, Aug. 19 in Taipei City.
